Xiegu's newest X6100 firmware (package 251213001): APP V1.2.0 with BASE V1.1.9. Reworked Wi-Fi settings page, revised AGC with new AGC SLOW/FAST time-constant settings, and a new cursor mode for tuning within the spectrum. Xiegu requires a factory reset after installing it.
Read before installing. A factory reset is REQUIRED after upgrading, or bands may not switch and the frequency may display as 0 (Xiegu). Needs a stable 13.8 V supply during the update. The card image is identical (CRC-32, size) to the one in Xiegu's x6100udimg-v1.2.0-251213001.zip on xiegu.eu. Downgrading is not documented by Xiegu.

Xiegu X6100 firmware 1.2.0 (APP V1.2.0 / BASE V1.1.9)
====================================================
WHAT THIS IS
------------
Xiegu's X6100 firmware package 251213001, released 2025-12-13, in the
package distributed by Radioddity (the US distributor):
APP : V1.2.0 Dec 13 2025, 11:45:40 (operating system / application)
BASE : V1.1.9 Nov 28 2025, 09:20:35 (baseband unit firmware)
This is the newest official X6100 firmware found (September 2026).
Changes from 1.1.9, from Xiegu's own release note (included):
1) Wi-Fi settings page reworked; HELP on that page explains its use.
2) AGC algorithm adjusted for better signal-to-noise ratio.
3) RADIO SETTING1: items 1 and 2 become AGC SLOW and AGC FAST, set as
time constants in units of 10 ms (the xiegu.eu page says "ms").
4) New cursor mode: set CENTER MODE to OFF in RADIO SETTING1 and tune
the cursor onto the wanted signal inside the displayed spectrum.
Xiegu's note, reproduced in both release documents: "A factory reset must
be performed after the upgrade; otherwise, the band data may be incorrect
(unable to switch bands or the frequency display may show as 0)."
The update is a complete microSD-card system image (sdcard.img, 856,686,592
bytes uncompressed), not a small .bin file. It is written to a card with an
image writer (Rufus, balenaEtcher), not copied onto a FAT32 card.
APPLIES TO
----------
Xiegu X6100 HF/6 m transceiver.
Must NOT be used on: the Xiegu X6200, G90, G106 or any other Xiegu radio;
each has its own firmware. The R1CBU alternative firmware is a different,
separately written card image (see the R1CBU entries in this archive).
BEFORE STARTING
---------------
- A microSD card of at least 4 GB (Radioddity; Xiegu's 2021 tutorial says
the same). Everything on it will be overwritten.
- A card reader and a PC. Radioddity's instructions use Windows 7/10/11
with Rufus (https://rufus.ie/); on Linux or macOS it names balenaEtcher
(https://etcher.balena.io/) as the equivalent.
- A stable 13.8 V external power supply connected to the radio for the
whole process. Radioddity: "The Xiegu X6100 must be connected to a stable
13.8V power supply during the entire update process". Xiegu packages
since April 2022 carry the note "it needs to connect to an external power
source to upgrade the baseband firmware".
- The factory reset required by this release erases personal settings and
data. Record menu settings, memories and Wi-Fi details first.
- Note the current APP and BASE versions (see VERIFYING) so that the
starting point is known.

INSTALLATION
------------
Summarised from Radioddity's instructions in the package and Xiegu's
X6100 Firmware Upgrade Tutorial (X6100-CZ20211206 V1.1). The update has
three stages: prepare the card, update the operating system (APP), then
update the baseband (BASE).
Prepare the card
1. Unzip the package on the PC.
2. Insert the microSD card in the card reader.
3. Start Rufus (confirm the administrator prompt). Check that the Device
box shows the card, not another drive.
4. Click SELECT, choose sdcard.img, click START and confirm the warning
that the card will be erased.
5. When writing has finished, close Rufus and eject the card through
the operating system before pulling it out. Radioddity: "Never remove
the microSD/flash memory card from the PC without first 'ejecting' it."
Update the operating system (APP)
6. Radioddity advises a factory reset before updating as well:
[GEN] > SYSTEM SETTING > FACTORY RESET, then OK twice. The radio
switches off and restarts with factory settings.
7. Switch the radio off and leave it off for at least 30 seconds.
8. Insert the card in the slot on the right-hand side, contacts towards
the display. The slot is push-push: pushed fully home, the card springs
back to stand out about 3 mm, which is the working position.
9. Switch the radio on. After the logo a text prompt appears and the
system update runs by itself. After about 2 minutes a shutdown
countdown appears and the radio switches itself off.
10. Remove the card (push it in once; it springs out about 1 cm).
Xiegu: "be sure to take out the flash card and start the machine again.
Otherwise, the system will perform the flash operation again."
Update the baseband (BASE)
11. With 13.8 V connected, switch the radio on normally.
12. [GEN] > SYSTEM SETTING. Turn the MFK knob to FIRMWARE UPGRADE (shown
as "FW UPGRADE" in the 2021 tutorial) and press MFK briefly.
13. A list of available baseband firmware appears; normally only one.
PREV / NEXT select another if more than one is listed.
14. Press UPGRADE. The title bar shows, in turn, "Firmware Upgrade: Erasing
Flash", "Firmware Upgrade: Writing Flash", "Firmware Upgrade: Done".
Xiegu's 2021 tutorial times this at about 5 seconds to start and about
20 seconds to 100 %.
15. Press QUIT, switch the radio off, then on again.
Required for this release
16. [GEN] > SYSTEM SETTING > FACTORY RESET, OK, OK. The radio restarts with
factory settings. Then restore settings and memories.
VERIFYING
---------
[GEN] > SYSTEM SETTING > SYSTEM INFO shows both versions. After this update
it should read APP V1.2.0 (Dec 13 2025) and BASE V1.1.9 (Nov 28 2025).
IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
-----------------------
- Bands will not change, or the frequency display shows 0, after the
update: the factory reset was skipped. Perform [GEN] > SYSTEM SETTING >
FACTORY RESET (Xiegu's release note).
- The update starts again at every power-on: the card is still in the
slot. Remove it (step 10).
- The card is not recognised, or the update does not start: re-write the
card with Rufus/balenaEtcher from the unzipped sdcard.img (not by copying
the file onto the card), eject it properly, and repeat from step 7.
Check the card is pushed in to the latched (3 mm out) position.
- Baseband update fails or the radio has no RF output afterwards: confirm
a stable 13.8 V supply is connected (not the internal battery alone) and
repeat steps 11-15. No output power after a baseband flash "on some
machines" was the fault in 1.1.8 that 1.1.9 fixed; it is not reported
for 1.2.0.
- A radio that will not start after an interrupted system update: no
Xiegu or Radioddity document describes this case. The radio starts from
a microSD card when one is inserted (the update card and the R1CBU
alternative firmware both depend on this), so the first step is to
write a fresh update card and power on with it. Beyond that, contact
the dealer; no user-level bootloader tool for the X6100 was found.
DOWNGRADING
-----------
No Xiegu or Radioddity document describes downgrading, and whether an
older BASE can be written over a newer one could not be confirmed.
Mechanically, an older package is applied exactly like a newer one: its
card image replaces the operating system, and the FIRMWARE UPGRADE list
then offers the baseband firmware that image carries. Radioddity keeps
older packages on its download page (its instructions point there for
older firmware versions) and advises a factory reset
after any update; do the same after going back. The last 1.1.x package
(1.1.9) and the first public package (1.1.0) are in this archive.
