Xiegu X6100 firmware 1.1.9 (APP V1.1.9 / BASE V1.1.8)
Verified — manufacturer file
Download zip (309.7 MB) Manufacturer's page ↗
The last 1.1.x release (package 240915001): APP V1.1.9, BASE V1.1.8. Fixes no RF output after a baseband flash on some radios (the fault that caused Xiegu to withdraw 1.1.8) and changes on-screen parameter text from red to white; includes all 1.1.8 changes (gain re-allocation, new waterfall auto-level, CI-V meter format change).
Read before installing. Superseded by 1.2.0. Image SHA-256 matches Xiegu's release note and the xiegu.eu page. 1.1.8 (withdrawn for TX failure) is deliberately not hosted. 1.1.8 changed the CI-V S-meter/SWR/voltage data format. Needs 13.8 V during the update.

Xiegu X6100 firmware 1.1.9 (APP V1.1.9 / BASE V1.1.8)
====================================================
WHAT THIS IS
------------
Xiegu's X6100 firmware package 240915001, in the package distributed by
Radioddity on 2024-09-23:
APP : V1.1.9 Sep 14 2024, 12:11:57
BASE : V1.1.8 Sep 15 2024, 15:22:37
This is the last release of the 1.1.x line and the last before 1.2.0
(2025-12-13), which requires a factory reset after installation.
Changes, from Xiegu's release note (included):
1) The App's parameter characters changed from red to white for better
visibility (xiegu.eu: "for better visibility in sunlight").
2) Fixed no output power after flashing the baseband on some machines.
Xiegu withdrew the previous release, 1.1.8 (package 240904002, APP V1.1.8 /
BASE V1.1.7), and xiegu.eu states: "The v1.1.8-240904002 update was
withdrawn on request by Xiegu. If you have updated your X6100 and
experience TX failure issues, this update will resolve the issue." 1.1.9
therefore also carries all of 1.1.8's changes: baseband gain re-allocation
(better S/N, less broadcast crosstalk, fewer birdies), new spectrum/
waterfall auto-level tracking, an audio spectrum/oscilloscope switch, a fix
for MFK tags not saving, a revised NR algorithm, a changed CI-V data format
for S-meter, SWR and voltage readings, and new WLAN and Bluetooth settings
screens.
The update is a complete microSD-card system image (sdcard.img, 856,686,592
bytes uncompressed), written to a card with an image writer.
APPLIES TO
----------
Xiegu X6100 HF/6 m transceiver. Must NOT be used on the X6200, G90, G106 or
any other Xiegu radio.
BEFORE STARTING
---------------
- A microSD card of at least 4 GB, a card reader, and a PC with an image
writer: Rufus on Windows 7/10/11 (https://rufus.ie/), or balenaEtcher
(https://etcher.balena.io/) on Linux/macOS (Radioddity).
- A stable 13.8 V external supply connected for the whole update
(Radioddity; Xiegu's packages since April 2022 say the baseband update
needs external power).
- Radioddity advises a factory reset after updating (and, in its later
1.2.0 instructions, before as well); that erases personal settings, so
record menu settings and memories first.
- Software that reads S-meter, SWR or voltage over CI-V may need
adjusting: 1.1.8 changed those data formats (S-meter 0000=S0, 0120=S9,
0242=S9+60dB; SWR 0000=1.0, 0048=1.5, 0080=2.0, 0120=3.0; volts 0000=0 V,
0075=5 V, 0241=16 V).

INSTALLATION
------------
From Radioddity's instructions in the package and Xiegu's X6100 Firmware
Upgrade Tutorial (X6100-CZ20211206 V1.1).
1. Unzip the package. Write sdcard.img to the microSD card with Rufus
(SELECT the image, START, confirm the erase warning) or balenaEtcher.
Eject the card through the operating system before removing it.
2. Optional (advised in Radioddity's later 1.2.0 instructions): [GEN] >
SYSTEM SETTING > FACTORY RESET, OK, OK.
3. Switch the radio off for at least 30 seconds. Insert the card in the
right-hand slot, contacts towards the display, pushed in until it
latches standing about 3 mm out.
4. Switch on. The system update runs by itself after the logo; after about
2 minutes a shutdown countdown appears and the radio switches off.
5. Remove the card. If it is left in, the update runs again at the next
power-on.
6. With 13.8 V connected, switch on. [GEN] > SYSTEM SETTING, turn MFK to
FIRMWARE UPGRADE and press MFK. Select the baseband firmware (PREV /
NEXT if more than one is listed) and press UPGRADE. The title bar shows
"Erasing Flash", "Writing Flash", then "Done".
7. Press QUIT, switch off and on again.
8. Radioddity advises a factory reset after updating: [GEN] > SYSTEM
SETTING > FACTORY RESET, OK, OK.
VERIFYING
---------
[GEN] > SYSTEM SETTING > SYSTEM INFO should show APP V1.1.9 (Sep 14 2024)
and BASE V1.1.8 (Sep 15 2024).
IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
-----------------------
- No RF output after the baseband update: this is the 1.1.8 fault that
1.1.9 exists to fix. Check that SYSTEM INFO really shows BASE V1.1.8
(Sep 15 2024), not the withdrawn build of Sep 4 2024 (which reported
itself as BASE V1.1.7); repeat step 6 if not.
- Update repeats at every start: the card is still inserted.
- Update does not start: re-write the card from the unzipped sdcard.img
with an image writer (copying the file onto the card does not work),
eject properly, reseat the card in the latched position.
- Baseband update fails: connect a stable 13.8 V supply and repeat step 6.
- Radio will not start after an interrupted system update: not covered by
any Xiegu or Radioddity document. The radio starts from an inserted
microSD card, so write a fresh card and power on with it first; beyond
that, contact the dealer.
DOWNGRADING
-----------
Not described by Xiegu or Radioddity, and not confirmed. An older package
is applied the same way (its image replaces the operating system; the
FIRMWARE UPGRADE list then offers its baseband). Do NOT go back to 1.1.8:
it was withdrawn for TX failure. Xiegu.eu, when publishing 1.1.7, called
it experimental and recommended version 1.1.6 for normal use - the only
published guidance about choosing an older version. Radioddity's download
page keeps packages back to 2022-04-18 (1.1.5).
